An Invitation To Frolic

today i am wearing something new: my first-ever peplum top, which i got on a random whim while window-shopping in the mall. this, i feel, is a significant sartorial milestone for me as the style never quite appealed to me before…though i did frequently like seeing it on others. and so here i am now, months after the fact, frolicking in a darling peplum piece and loving every second of it.

i had no intentions of buying anything that day: i was browsing the racks of kamiseta (you know how there are shops you are always drawn to, even when you are just wandering aimlessly while passing the time?) and immediately gravitated toward this top. i was surprised, to say the least – more so when i discovered the gorgeous criss-cross back, on top of the sweet polka dots with which i was already enamored. i tried on the smallest size (fit like a glove!) and learned that it actually came from the miss k line, kamiseta’s classy/trendy collection for the younger, budget-conscious crowd.

i couldn’t help but look around some more, and true enough i found so many other cute things to buy. i ended up with another couple of pieces from miss k, including this oh-so-sweet canvas bag. they are a match made in heaven and i cannot wait to spend my summer in my new, lovely purchases.
