The Half-Way, The Almost

something about these strappy sandals remind me a bit of sliders, which have notably been making rounds across blogs, street style sites and every other what-to-wear-this-season list. i understand other people’s enthralment with the trend (i, too, was a big fan of birkenstocks back in the day) but i can’t quite get on board the so-called normcore craze — more so make the commitment to buy the pricey, iconic footwear. so i make do with a sartorial compromise: this super cute and affordable alternative of a sandal, paired with my usual color + pattern mixing because, you know, some things never change.
and yes, i am in love with my gingham-and-floral outfit combo, which i asked my talented friend to make for me. it was originally going to be a one-piece dress but the idea of mix-and-matching two different pieces got the best of me.
also, pockets.

WHAT A MARVELLOUS SKIRT! I love the pattern and the fact that it has pockets! The length is perfect for the season and makes you look quite lady-like. Incredible job!
