Digital Perm By Benefits Salon
as i showed you guys earlier, i recently got my hair curled again (yaaay!). this is my third digital perm [a.k.a. “hot perm“] in a span of about five years.
the process took place at BENEFITS SALON in eastwood, last sunday at noon (they really recommend everyone to reserve a day for this salon service). we started with the usual shampoo and combing to smoothen and soften hair out. a special cream was then applied to open up my hair strands’ pores (not sure if “pores” is really the correct term but that’s what the stylists used!), which was necessary for the strands to curl better with the heat. this was left on my hair for about 30 minutes and then washed off completely.
next came the arduous task of parting my mane into small sections, wrapping them in pieces of paper, and then rolling them in curling rods and securing with elastic bands. three people stood around me doing this, so as to speed up the process a bit. you can see just how complex and stressful this part could get!
after all that, the rods were connected to the digital perming machine and my hair was “heated” for about 40 minutes. this was tricky because the smoke can be really uncomfortable (and sometimes burning on the scalp), plus all that weight on your head can be a total pain. so patience is key! anyway, when the wires were removed, my hair was drenched in a neutralizing liquid to close said “pores “and cool my hair for 30 minutes or so.
finally, i got the last bit of rinsing and shampooing, got my hair trimmed and bangs straightened out, and voila! a perfect crown of curls. i am in love. (:
big big thanks to the awesome BENEFITS SALON staff, especially wowie and rusty, who styled my hair so brilliantly.
digiperm prices at BENEFITS: P3,500 for short, P4,500 for medium, P5,500 for long.

hi! well, bigger than a normal perm anyway. you can check out this outfit post with pictures that i took right after the digiperm. and the procedure was done only last may, so the curls are pretty much still the same. and you can see how it looks with every single outfit post i’ve done from may to present. haha.
