to this day i still frequently get comments and queries addressing the seeming paradox of a petite girl wearing a midi (or maxi) skirt. mostly they come from peers who apparently have intense desires to don such skirt lengths, but are too intimidated or scared to even give it a try. but even with the frequency with which i receive such commentary, i still can never answer them in a coherent, helpful manner. i find my thoughts often get too confuddled with mixed emotions on the topic, ranging from sympathy to enthusiasm and, occasionally, bemused exasperation. sometimes i wish people would just wear what they want to wear and not be bothered by public perception or even their personal opinions on what is and what is not flattering on. if you want to wear a midi skirt, it doesn’t matter if you’re tall or short or hourglass or a bit of a tomboy. just go for it. if you end up loving the look, then great. if not, well, now you can just move on to the next style adventure.
point is: no one should get held back by silly fears or perceived rules about fashion. i mean, dressing up is supposed to be fun, innit?

You are so right! But I’m guilty for being too lazy to dress up the way I want. hehe.
Anyway, I really love the way you write. 🙂
