Epic
described as a “battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and evil,” EPIC follows the adventures of teenage girl mary katherine (voiced by amanda seyfried) who discovers a brilliant world of tiny leafmen and gets swept away by colorful characters like soldiers nod (josh hutcherson) and ronin (colin farrell), queen tara (beyonce knowles), nim galuu (steven tyler) and the quirky slug/snail tandem of mub and grub (aziz ansari and chris o’dowd) — all trying to defeat the notorious villain of the woods, mandrake (christoph waltz).
i watched the movie with a friend who is, rather openly, not a fan of animated films, and yet he enjoyed EPIC quite a bit. i did, too — and i still smile sometimes when i remember some of the scenes from the movie (mub the slug is charmingly hilarious!). it’s a whirlwind of fun, excitement and peculiar characters that will surely leave you in a happy trance, long after it’s over.
EPIC is now showing in theaters nationwide.
