the recent daytime rains have made outfit shoots rather tricky and frustrating, making me resort to these night time shots which i so often avoid. it’s not that i don’t like the way they look (in fact i think they can be extremely pretty when done right), but i hardly ever feel like my day-to-day ensembles go well with such dark setting — and using unflattering camera flash never helps. this particular set unnerved me a bit, although my boyfriend john was extremely enthused throughout the shoot. i can’t blame him: the photos look much lovelier than i anticipated, although details in the outfit have become distorted somewhat (the blazer is actually a nice ink green). at least now i know the potential for shooting at night, and so perhaps next time i will come better prepared and much, much more excited about it.
