Something Implying Routine

on days when i venture out i find myself reaching for variations of the same things over and over again–closet pieces that are less fussy, less obtrusive, less worrisome. even my day-to-day make-up has found unlikely comfort in the bare essentials (dab of concealer and blush, swipe of tinted lip balm and a coat of mascara) after years of almost-daily smokey eyes and piled-on products. i dare not say i am falling into a rut, but rather a bizarre phase of familiarity and ease. not at all bad, but i do quite miss the feeling of getting all dolled up even for a quick run to the supermarket.
