Le Papillon

i recently got sent l’oreal paris‘ newest make-up wonder, the false lash butterfly mascara, and got asked to recreate this eye look with a complementing outfit. i immediately jumped on the chance since i had been wanting to try this mascara for months (one of my all-time favorite mascaras is the voluminous carbon black, so i knew i as going to love this as well). since the theme is le papillon (“the butterfly”), i wanted to create a look that was both mysterious and beautiful, genuine and mesmerizing. i used my colour riche eyeshadow quad  in incredible grey to create this smoldering silver-toned smokey eye and lined it with the super liner gelmatic pen (my new favorite! it’s so good). of course i topped it all off with the false lash butterfly mascara, and the results were truly amazing.

not gonna lie, the first time i tried it i thought it didn’t do much for my lashes. it separated and defined them well, sure — but otherwise seemingly unimpressive to my scrutinizing eye. and then, i looked up, and felt my lashes touch my eyebrows! it was incredible. i love how it lasts all day, too, with no flaking or smudging (i have the waterproof one, which holds the curl extremely well) and i still continue to get compliments when i wear it, so it’s already up there alongside my favorite voluminous carbon black.
