Art For The Home
it’s funny how often i find myself daydreaming about my future home — my pinterest board is proof of it. i always imagine what sort of furniture i’d collect (a bit of shabby chic, methinks!), what combination of colors i’d splatter across my walls and, perhaps most importantly, exactly how big my walk-in closet would be. i mean, fantasizing about one’s dream home wouldn’t be complete without a fully functional, perfectly organized walk-in closet, would it? amirite girls?
one thing that really excites me though is imagining what sort of artwork i would put on display around the house. it would be one of the funnest aspects of decorating, i think, as i have such a wide assortment of tastes that my home would likely end up being a happy medley of art and collectibles. i imagine abstract watercolor paintings (the vibrant, happy kind) hanging in the living room and hallways, always bringing in sunshine and joy no matter the season or mood.
all sorts of pretty, nostalgic photographs would be displayed in the bedrooms and baths..
while all the fashion-y artwork would go in the walk-in closet for some day-to-day inspiration (i mean look at that dress!).
decorating my home would not be complete without some travel art, so i’ll be sure to pick up plenty of these super chic destination posters. the blue and orange venice print is SO gorgeous, but my favorites are the line posters of new york and london showing the cities’ transport systems. cool, eh?
finally, some good ol’ quote art. can’t get enough of these things! they can literally be displayed everywhere, and i imagine they’d work especially well in the living room and study, perhaps alongside some of those city-themed posters above. just the perfect dose of daily motivation!
what sort of art and decor do you imagine your home being decked with?

I had a short trip at the homeworld department the other day, and I’ve eyed some pretty quote wall decors. I’d like a statement wall clock for my future home. Seen some the other day, too. And also, I’d like to flaunt my books at the living room! Or even have a somewhat mini-library. That’d be too fab. 🙂
