Dancing Round The Blooms And Pines
i used to dress in outfits like this all the time; it comes with working a 9-5 job, i guess. but since i haven’t had a desk job in years, nor have i attended too many meetings and events that require such a dress code, there hasn’t been much reason to dress up in any smart-casual kind of look. surprisingly enough i’ve come to find that i miss it quite a bit! i think it’s the whole grown-up aspect of it that appeals to me: wearing a crisp, button-down shirt with dressy trousers and heels seems to have that effect.
so i decided to go ‘old school’ with this look, just for the heck of it. i like to think of it as a throwback to my typical work uniform that i always enjoyed wearing (we even took these photos at my usual spot near my old office!). this time around i opted for a juvenile fun spring-y top with adorable cherry buttons and a strawberry collar because, you know, dressing grown-up never has to mean dressing boring. amirite or amirite?
shirt – c/o usoplus
trousers – mango (old, similar here)
heels – mario d’ boro
bag – rebecca minkoff marlowe mini
PS
while we were snapping these pictures there was a car parked directly in front of me with a man sitting behind the wheel (i think he may have been the owner of the house!) so we had to make it quick. that might explain the sheer awkwardness of my poses and expressions in this set! #fashionbloggerproblems
