Put A Pin On It: Getting Unstuck From A Rut
having been blogging for the better part of the last seven years, i encounter the dreaded ‘creative block’ more often than you might think. it is so easy to get stuck in a rut (outfit or blogging-wise!) and not recover immediately, leaving intermittent & unimaginative posts in its wake. now enters PINTEREST.
i’m pretty sure y’all know what pinterest is, but in case you’ve been away from the internet — or anyone with a pulse — for the last couple of years, i thought i’d let you know: it’s an online visual bookmarking tool that helps you discover and save photos, links and all sorts of creative ideas from everywhere on the internet. in short, you can find anything you like online and have an easy and convenient way to return to it later on.
my favorite use for it is probably pretty obvious. i pin A LOT of outfit ideas from various sources, and i love visiting this board when i am feeling a bit lazy or uninspired to dress up. seeing all these wonderful looks and being reminded of how fun it is to dress up really gets me going!
another great way to utilize the site is to bookmark all your dream destinations. i’ve always considered myself a bit of a wanderlust but pinterest has helped me discover so many other lovely places that i never thought i’d want to visit — from the picturesque mountains of austria to the sandy beaches of brazil.
i have a couple dozen other pinterest boards, featuring everything from hair & make-up tutorials to glorious food ideas, as well as pretty film photos and super cool DIY projects. i highly recommend joining pinterest, not only for when you want to get out of a rut, but also for all sorts of future use like gift-giving and planning parties. i have a special sign-up link for you guys so you don’t have to request for an invite. only the first TEN people can avail of it though so better hurry!
don’t forget to follow me on pinterest and i hope to see you there soon! happy pinning!
