Wishlist Wednesday: Bridal Gowns
before you think anything, i will get this out of the way: no, i am not getting married. but i still have a bridal wishlist curated here, because i like looking at pretty things. and you do, too, right? 😉
lately it seems like everybody is getting married. my facebook feed constantly gets filled with themed prenuptial shoots and those same-day-edit videos that always manage to tug at the heartstrings. and if people aren’t getting married, they’re getting engaged. one of my oldest, bestest friends just recently got engaged and she asked me to be her maid of honor — to which i said yes, of course! it also came with the promise that i’d be first in line to help her pick out the perfect wedding gown for her most special day. it’s an exciting task, but also somewhat daunting.
i feel like there are two major traditional routes to go when picking out one’s dream wedding dress, and one of them is the frilly, princess-y route. it’s not the bridal look for everyone, i know, but there certainly are plenty of designs out there that can make you look lovely and classy without getting overly saccharine with the frou. i especially love that dress in the middle with the grey sash!
the other wildly popular look is the more elegant, streamlined gown. whether it is bedazzled with some sparkles or left simply understated, it is wonderfully timeless and befitting the modern woman’s sophisticated tastes.
finally, there is the third, less traditional option: a wedding dress in a nonwhite color. champagne and blush pink are some popular choices, but a soft lavender or peach would also look stunning. super unique, too!
i gotta say, after seeing all these lovely choices (via gbridal.com, in case you are interested!) i’m feeling much more confident to help my friend find her perfect wedding dress. it’s going to be SO. MUCH. FUN. 😀
