this outfit was not really meant to be photographed this way, or on this particular day, some weeks ago. along with my best friend, her fiancé, and a small team of people, i had gone for a quick trip to tagaytay where they shot her beautiful engagement photos. john and i tagged along for the entire shoot — more for moral support than anything — as they went from location to location, one pose after another. this was the look i wore while i stood on the sidelines, barking out a joke here and there and offering little words of encouragement to help the couple smile through the long, grueling day.
to endure the hours-long shoot i just wanted to be in comfortable clothes that wouldn’t get too hot under the midday sun, and sensible footwear that wouldn’t get in the way. though i hadn’t meant to take pictures then (i would’ve fixed my hair and swapped out my old, tattered sandals otherwise), i still liked the way these turned out, simple as they are and unexciting as the clothes may be. for behind it lies some rather fond memories of a day not long ago, of people i care about, and new life chapters opening on the horizon.
