All Roads Lead To Avon City
every so often i get invited to a brand event that sets itself apart from all others. a soiree that, in more ways than one, impresses upon its guests a sense of specialness and belonging, not only there in attendance but as a takeaway as well.
one such recent event is Avon City, the first ever experiential product expo highlighting Avon Philippines‘ bestselling merchandise. the event’s main attendees were over 1,500 of the company’s top performing sales representatives from all over the country.
i was lucky enough to experience the expo alongside some of my fellow bloggers, and more than a week later i still vividly remember everything about it.
we were toured around the venue and taken to various booths dedicated to the brand’s many offerings, from fragrance to makeup and everything in between. each booth was dressed up with its own unique theme, which was endlessly impressive and thoroughly enjoyable.
i took my time checking out the arcade area, where i sniffed my way through Avon Fragrance‘s fun roster of scents called Be Spritz. they have a little bit of something for everybody, whatever their fragrance personality may be.
i was also immediately drawn to the cutesy booths in Avon City (no surprise there!). the biggest one was a market-style area that featured Avon Home & Kids products, where we got to let our inner kids indulge in some hand-spun cotton candy. yum!
another booth was set up as an adorable, all-pink cake shop, dressed up with flowers and delicate doilies. it highlighted Avon Fashions (Accessories) and we got to check out some of Avon’s pretty handbags and walked away with equally pretty cupcakes, too!
on the cake shop’s left side was the chocolaterie for Avon Jewelry & Accessories, and on the right was the loungerie which had on display some beautiful pieces from the Avon Intimate Apparel line. we had a mini personal shopper experience with the help of Avon’s friendly staff, and got ourselves some lovely new bras to take home.
there was a movie theater area dedicated to Skin So Soft Hand & Body Lotion and Avon True Color Perfectly Matte (aka my favorite Avon lipstick formula), where we got to walk the red carpet and load up on some traditional movie fare, le buttered popcorn.
after all our snacking, we went to the juice bar where we got our fill of refreshing drinks and learned all about the brand’s skincare line, Avon Naturals. since my favorite is the rose & pearl variant, i chose the rose-flavored drink they had prepared and it was so, so good.
i totally swooned over the picnic park perched right in the middle of Avon City. it was adorned with pastel flowers and shabby chic decor — the perfect theme to go with the brand’s popular teen line, Simply Pretty.
more than its impressive set-up and guest turnout though, i think the real success of Avon City lies in the simple yet remarkable way that it made its attendees feel valued and loved.
the hundreds of women present were but a small sampling of the generations of women who have become part of the Avon community in the last century. and without fail, the company has made them — made us — their foremost priority through its continuous efforts in product development, corporate social responsibility, and festivities like this that may seem trivial at face value, but actually make all the difference to its members.
i did go home with a few new trinkets and souvenirs from Avon City but it’s the memories, the thrill and joy of it, that i will always remember. i hope this marks the start of another meaningful tradition for the company that will endure for years to come.
