ethnic prints: trial one
i thrifted this dress a couple of weeks back and had it shortened. i love the details on it, from the print to the waist sash to the bubble sleeves. when i bought it, i think i had a major hang-over from reading the january issue of preview – my favorite local magazine – with its gorgeous photos of ethnic/tribal prints. they never used to appeal to me, but i suddenly couldn’t resist them.
perhaps the print and style aren’t very ethnic per se, but we all gotta start somewhere right? besides. i didn’t want to be overkill on my first attempt. and, to be honest, i wasn’t sure that i could pull it off.
(i posed with the little bahay kubo to get a more cultural feel for the pic. hah.)
