me and the plath
everything was thrifted, and you can find the belt here.
a couple of years back, i did a 30-page paper and oral report on sylvia plath and three of her poems. when i found myself incredibly depressed with all the things i was reading about her, i’d wander off a bit and look at her pictures from books and the internet. i thought she looked lovely in her simple outfits and usual headbands (ironically the pictures i included here don’t show that). just the other day, i re-read a few pages of ariel and was inspired to come up with this outfit. of course, i don’t think plath would have gone for the bright, almost neon, belt… but that is the difference between me and her. (plus the brilliant writing and suicidal tendencies; both of which i will never have. i think.)

I have that same picture on my desktop background. Also, I loved her unabridged diaries. I read all bazillion pages, at least, the ones that her husband didn’t remove…
