change of scenario
when reading other people’s blogs the thing that saddens me a little is how they find the most amazing places for their photo shoots. lush greens and beautiful abandoned buildings are some of my favorite backdrops, things that sadly, are nowhere to be found here. at least, not where i live.
before we moved to our new home, we lived in an apartment compound with plenty of options for such backgrounds. one of our neighbors had a lovely little garden for one, and sometimes i’d walk by slower just to take it all in. but where we are now, though still a compound with more than a dozen apartments inside, is a tad more dull. there are no gardens whatsoever, and with very few plants here and there. and it never feels right to take a picture beside our neighbor’s single pot of fern.
so most of my recent outfit posts have been taken on my balcony. i’ve always planned on making it a little more exciting, like decorating it with plants and some peculiar furniture. but as most things go in my life, i haven’t found the time to even get it started, so i am left with another boring backdrop.
this time though, i decided to leave the confines of my balcony and go out — just right outside our apartment where we do actually have a few plants crammed together. i was so nervous to do this because there are always people hanging around there, but thank goodness no one saw me during my humble little photo shoot.

I wouldn’t worry about the backgrounds, it’s your well styled outfits we are here for. 🙂

Fantastic blouse. I was taking my pictures behind a building yesterday in what I thought was a discreet place–halfway through I realized there was someone up in a window office directly behind my camera! @_@

I was going to say too, I relate to how you feel about certain bloggers. We technically don’t “know” each other, but when you’ve been following each other’s pictures and words for so long, there is a sense of relationship and friendship even.

yeah, I always have that problem for trying to find a nice place to take pictures. But the thing is people only pay attention to the clothes, so it’s okay!

Hey hey! Amazing site 🙂 Nice to see a blogger from manila. Btw, where do you get your thrifted stuffs? 🙂

it does scare me a little to even take photos in public, even those that are about a minute out of my house. they have the most gorgeous retaining walls there.
but balcony shots or otherwise, it’s the clothes that are the main deal 🙂

Hi!
I was so happy to find another fashion blogger from the Phils. 🙂 You’re style is just…SUPERB!!
I have that same problem too… that’s why I just confine myself to taking pictures inside the room because if I attempt to take/or have my pictures taken outside.. the helps are gonna have a great laugh! heehee…

What a sweet outfit – I love it!
I used to have a pair of blue jeans just like those…now I’m sad I got rid of them 🙁

I know how you feel about that!! My apartment and surrounding area are so small that I can’t back up from the camera enough to get a head-to-toe shot, except in a scant minority of uninspiring places. But I’ve always thought your pics are quite cute, and I must echo hailey@stylesymmetry in her sentiment!

i’m envious too at people who get to take photos at parks, forest and such. i too don’t have nice backgrounds for photos nor have time to take a picture at said places. i’m always rushing to head to the office!!! hahaha. hopefully when we do get to move house (if ever that pushes thru) there’s this nice mini park in front of the said new house that would be great for outfit photoshoots.
