Dress Code
the office recently issued a dress-code-of-sorts to us reporters. it basically consisted of a strict “no party dresses” rule and a “please dress professionally” request. although it seems like a rather lax dress code with much room for interpretation, most of us were a bit disheartened and have since opted to come to work in rather ordinary clothes.
..not that there’s anything wrong with that. we’ve just gotten so used to being able to dress freely and, truth be told, rather playfully.
but rules are rules after all and ultimately i choose to see this as a challenge to look more professional…but still me.

Haha I agree, you should see this as a way to challenge yourself to dress up without breaking any rules, yet still maintaining your own personality and style! "No party dresses" still leaves room for lots of other types of dresses!
Did you dye your hair? Or maybe it's the sunlight that's making it all light brown and what not. Anyways, I love your braided hair, I wish I could braid mine (for some reason it keeps falling out when I do it :P).

Hey Bestie!
I actually think having a dress code is a good thing. At least you will always be appropriately dressed for work (not that you aren't) and all its surprises! I've fallen victim to our lack of one one-too-many times: went to an evacuation center last year wearing a bodycon mini + oversized shirt + hicut chucks. It was terrible.
Anyway, your "ordinary" outfit still looks so chic! 🙂

i love it that you still added your own "twist" to this outfit. gorgeous!

chambray shirts are always cool. and im sorry to hear about the dresscode. for the most part, the reason why i chose to be in a media agency is due to the lack of dresscodes.

Eh, my school has a dresscode too and it is the biggest pain in the butt. They are really strict with it and won't let you in even if you have an exam. I had to learn the hard way :/
On the plus side, it does teach you creativity (as you said). Personally, it taught me to dress much classier and more lady-like. It's not all bad.
