I Stand Out

for weeks we had been scrambling at work to prepare for a big event we had organized for one of our clients. it was the media launch of LOLITA, a new line of cologne sprays for teens (which, in all fairness, is a worthwhile product for anyone to try out! i should know — i tested and re-tested all the scents as i was creating the product profile for the press kit. they are made from high-quality ingredients; they smell great and last for hours.). so these photos are a mix of our preparations at the office, our pre-event rehearsals, moments during the actual event, and a couple of “aftermath” shots from my instagram as well.

everything was put together in just a small period of time — the venue set-up, catering arrangements, program flow, guest list, giveaways, and all other little details like the bubble machines at the entrance and interactive photobooth with dressed-up extras to pose with. i functioned as floor director during the program, cuing people up and down the stage and screaming into my two-way radio alongside nine of my colleagues who also had one strapped to them. needless to say my right ear was throbbing well through the night.

the launch was, thankfully, a HUGE success: we got a great turnout and received plenty of raves about the event. we even managed to make #myrtleforlolita the top trending topic on twitter that day. and even more importantly, we unveiled lolita’s print ad for its I STAND OUT campaign, which we had all been anxiously waiting for. it’s just so amazing to see everything come to fruition after all our hard work.

and since myrtle sarrosa is lolita’s endorser (in case that wasn’t clear, lol), she was there to celebrate with us all night. she is a true sweetheart and is always ready to greet people with a smile. i find her to be incredibly smart and polite, too; just perfect to be the brand’s ambassador!
