more and more i am becoming increasingly attached to reading books again, which is a habit i always had but lost somewhere along the way. thankfully i have found my way back to it, though i am mildly chagrined to admit that most of my reading consists of digital copies nowadays (alas, the e-book’s ease and convenience is unrivalled by few things for me).
after several months of dabbling in all sorts of genres, i have unwittingly succumbed to the pull of glorious, fantasy novels; tales about magical worlds and heroic characters and mythical creatures that dazzle you breathless. already i have read so many of them and yet i find that there is always room for more magic, more glittering stories that lift you off your feet and transport you to a place where your own troubles fade away.
therein lies the appeal of fantasy, after all: the beautiful, madeup-ness of it that allows you to escape, even for just a moment.
one day i hope to share a reading list of some of my favorite books on here… perhaps in a few months, after i’ve re-read my ever-growing collection and somehow narrowed them down to what i believe to be the very best. i am currently on the last leg of reading crooked kingdom by leigh bardugo, sequel to six of crows. they are both phenomenal works of fiction (modern or otherwise) that reel you in with every piercing word, every breathless moment. i cannot get enough.
what book are you currently reading?
