A Nostalgic Touch: Trying Out Lightroom Presets by A Clothes Horse
these last couple of weeks i’ve been playing around with the fall/winter lightroom presets created by rebecca, known to us all as A Clothes Horse. if you’ve followed her long enough (or even briefly glanced at any photo of hers, really), you’ll know that she is a true creative who seeks for and values the beauty around her — and showcases it in her content, for us to enjoy as well. i knew then, as soon as she released her first lightroom presets late last year, that they were going to be nothing short of exceptional.
A HARVEST PACK is rebecca’s autumnal filter set, which includes 6 warm-toned presets. for my photo above, i used birches, damsons, pumpkin patch, and bramley, each of them lending a cozy, vintage feel to my indoor shot. don’t the filters make my photo look so lush?
for this picture, i applied hygge and conkers, and reused damsons and pumpkin patch as well. i picked this shot specifically because the colors in it resemble autumnal tones, which is what this preset pack was meant to highlight. i was very pleased to find that even without an actual seasonal shift on my side of the world, i can still effectively introduce rich, warm hues to my photographs.
A FESTIVE PACK, on the other hand, is inspired by winter and the holiday season. it includes both warm and cool-toned presets, plus two extra freebies for good measure. above, i used evergreen, frost, sugarplum, and mulled wine to enhance an outdoor shot with a distinctly urban/concrete background. i wanted to see how rebecca’s presets would fare with such a backdrop, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they all worked perfectly.
holly, mistletoe, hearth, and classic movies — the latter two being the freebies — are the more cinematic presets, in my opinion. they are very transformative and immediately impart a ~mood~ to any photo. they are so unique! i love them.
you can purchase these presets (compatible with lightroom desktop, lightroom mobile, and photoshop) HERE. do watch out for the release of rebecca’s spring presets, too! they’re coming out very soon i am beyond excited.
